On Wednesday, March 8, the elementary students had a taste test of four new foods during lunch. The students tried fresh pineapple, blueberries, kale chips, and hummus with pea pods. The students loved the opportunity to try out the various foods. Along with the regular lunch staff at the elementary, food service director Joanne Robinson and dietician Staci Hemesath served the students and had the students “cast their kernels” for their favorites. Pineapple was the favorite with blueberries coming in second. Hummus and snap peas were a distant 4th. It was exciting to see the number of students who tried new and different foods than they typically eat.
