Great job, Tigers. We look forward to the rest of the meet!

Thank you Mr. Bob!

Mr. Bob has been a mentor for Jack since elementary school. He has been dependable, meaningful, and influential to the young students at Gilbert. As a mentor, he’s been able to share his wisdom and show how much he cares for our students. Bob and Jack crafted name signs for various staff members; thank you for being such an active member of the Gilbert family!

Hunger Hero Award Winner Miss.Kris!

The Hunger Hero award is a grant given to a very special school food service program. This award goes to only five in the nation! This person has gone above and beyond to put a smile on a child’s face while serving nutritious and delicious meals. Gilberts, Miss. Kris, at the Intermediate School, received this very deserving award. In April, an assembly was held to surprise her, and the students sang her a very special song they wrote for her. We are so thankful for everything Miss. Kris does for our students and the community, and couldn’t think of anyone more deserving! Read More Here!

A Trip to the Botanical Center!

Third graders had the opportunity to go to the Botanical Center in Des Moines yesterday. A huge thank you to the Gilbert Education Foundation for making this happen. They were able to learn about numerous plants and the extreme sizes they can grow to. They were fascinated by the sizes of the seeds and how they are able to survive in some habitats. They also had the opportunities to learn about climates and ecosystems. The students say, “it was better than we expected!”
