Gilbert Parent Teacher Organization
The purpose of our organization is to promote open communication among parents, teachers and administrators and to aid the students and staff by providing support for educational and recreational needs. We function strictly through the help of volunteers and on the budget established by our fundraising efforts.
We also encourage you to get involved! We sponsor many activities that allow parents to give of their time and talents as little or as much as they like. Many hands make light work! Click on Volunteer Opportunities to learn more!
Back-to- School Socials
Join us at the Back-to- School Socials on Tuesday, August 22, from 5:00-7:00 pm at the
Elementary School and 4:00-6:00 pm at the Intermediate School. Bring in your school supplies*,
meet your teachers, and enjoy a free snack! *exception – preschool students do NOT bring in
their supplies this night!

Come to the Gilbert High School Auditorium on Monday, August 28 from 6:30 – 8:30 pm to meet
the candidates running for Gilbert School Board.

Our first PTO meeting of the year will be on Tuesday, September 5 at 7:00 pm at the Gilbert
Middle School Library; the rest of the meetings will generally be on the first Monday of every
Carnival Save the Date
Please mark your calendars for the annual PTO Carnival – Saturday, October 21 from 5:00 – 8:00
pm at the Gilbert Middle School. This is the largest fundraiser for the PTO; we ask for help from
parents and businesses to make this the most successful it can be! There are sponsorship and
donation opportunities, so if you or your business is interested in making a contribution, please
send an email to PTO@gilbert.k12.ia.us.
