Iowa State University’s Office of Precollegiate Programs for Talented and Gifted (OPPTAG) offers summer residential and nonresidential summer opportunities for advanced students. An eligible 3-8 student (Adventure Program) must submit recent standardized tests of ability/achievement profiles and/or receive a strong recommendation from a teacher or mentor. An eligible 9-12 student (Exploration Program) must meet selected OPPTAG - Explorations course prerequisites, AND one of the following: Have a Middle or High school GPA of = 3.50 on a 4.00 scale Score at or above the 97th percentile (National norms) on state assessment, or other achievement/ability tests Score at or above the 93rd percentile (Iowa norms) on ITBS, ITED, Iowa Assessment, or other achievement/ability tests Submit SAT I: Reasoning Test or ACT assessment scores (no specific score required) Read More
