MakeRoom Mornings Summer Art Classes
Event Information
Join us for MakeRoom mornings this summer. Each class will explore mixed media within your very own art book. Wax, inks, paints, textiles, paper folding, oil pastels, watercolor and more! No class will be the same. There will also be a makers space to create whatever your heart can imagine. The 9am session is for those entering 2nd-4th grade in the fall and the 10:30am session is for those entering 5th grade in the fall and up.
Space is limited. Classes will take place in Gilbert. Art supplies are included. There is a one time supply & processing fee per student of $10. Each class is $35. Alyssa Flaten is an artist and mama to three who brings over 20 years of experience as a K-12 art educator, photographer, and founder of BeholdHim (a nonprofit where the heart is nurtured through creative experiences).

Story Theater Company Presents Romeo and Juliet
Event Information
Story Theater Company’s annual teen show, for ages 13-18, is an intensive experience where the participants form a theater company to create a production. With the guidance of an adult director and two design mentors, the teens not only act in the show, but are also responsible for all sets, costumes, props, lights, dramaturgy, music, and stage management. They tell the classic well known story of star crossed lovers and their families feud.

Event Information
St. Clair Detrick-Jules is an award-winning filmmaker, photographer, author, and activist. She captures personal stories and intimate moments centering Black liberation, immigrant justice, and women's rights. An Afro-Caribbean artist who remains rooted in her community, St. Clair grounds her work in radical love, joy, and the knowledge that a more just world is possible.
St. Clair has a BA from Brown University in French and Francophone Studies. She has been featured in The Washington Post, Washingtonian Magazine, BuzzFeed News, Allure Magazine, Byrdie, and NPR's Strange Fruit, among others. Her debut book, My Beautiful Black Hair: 101 Natural Hair Stories from the Sisterhood, showcases the photographs and stories of Black women embracing their crowns. St. Clair currently resides in her hometown of Washington, DC.

SWENext: Engineers of Tomorrow is an experiencing engineering day that will be hosted at Iowa State on Saturday, April 22nd, 2023 from 9am-3pm. This day is directed towards 9th through 12th grade students interested in engineering. The purpose of our camp is to expose the students to different disciplines of engineering offered at Iowa State. Every student will participate in hands-on activities and attend engineering major sessions hosted by Iowa State Professors of that major. They will also get to talk with current Iowa State students about their experiences in engineering.

7 on 7 Football league for grades 1st -12th in Norwalk. June 26-July 27 on Monday and Thursday Night. 1st and 2nd grade play 5 on 5. Modifications by age. Tiered ability groupings. Teams likely play 3 25 minute games on one night per week. Individual registration available. Links are on flyer.
