November 2016 Superintendent Note
Thank you to those patrons who attended our Long Range Facility Planning Meeting on October 26th. There were 20 + people that attended and shared their thoughts and ideas regarding our district. This was an excellent turnout, and we greatly appreciate the participation. There is a Story County Legislative Forum that is coming up on Tuesday, November 15th. This will be an opportunity for district patrons to address educational issues with their local legislators. If you are passionate about school funding and school related issues, please email Lindsey Beecher, Superintendent. We are looking for four parents and four community/business leaders. We will take these on a first come first served basis.
Congratulations to the fall activities on a very successful first few months of school. We are now looking forward as we move into the winter activity seasons. A reminder that the High School will have a Talent Show on November 11th & 12that 7:00 in the High School Auditorium. Be sure to come out to see the wonderful talent that we have in our district
I was able to attend the Professional Learning Community Conference in Des Moines this past week. We were able to have a good number of staff members attend from various level with representation from each of the buildings. The district has been doing a great job with PLCs and this conference reinforced that and allowed us to reflect on how we are utilizing this concept.
