Health Reminders 2017-2018 school year

Just a few reminders for the 2017-18 school year:

  1. All returning students should complete a “returning student health history” form.  Click here for the form. It can also be found on our website under “forms”.  Please complete this form even if you register online.

  2. All 7th graders are required to have both a meningococcal vaccine and a Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) booster before school starts this fall.

  3. All 9th graders should have a dental screening performed.  This is an Iowa requirement for all students entering kindergarten and 9th grade.  We have attached the dental form for your dentist or hygienist to complete. Click here for the form. It can also be found on our website under “forms”.  If your child recently had an exam, you can take this form into your dentist and/or hygienist to sign.

  4. All 12th graders are required to have a meningococcal vaccine before school starts this fall.

  5. All students with medication should pick up their medication from the nurse’s office on (or before) the last day of school.  If you do not want the medication to come home with your child, please contact us to make other arrangements.  All medication left at the school will be properly disposed of.

Welcome to Gilbert High School

At Gilbert High School, we are dedicated to helping Every Student Every Day succeed by putting our vision into action.  The daily actions of all staff and students create a culture of encouragement and pride through the active application of our Vision pillars: Respect, Integrity, Growth and Pride.  Our staff currently serves over 450 students in grades 9-12.  Our growing district seeks to offer outstanding programs and learning opportunities, while maintaining a small-school feel. Modern facilities, a one-to-one laptop initiative, an emphasis on project-based learning and many school-sponsored clubs make GHS a great place to go to school.  GHS was awarded the 2014 Blue Ribbon Schools Award by the United States Department of Education and received an exceptional rating on the new Iowa Report Card. Only 3% of high schools in Iowa received this high of rating.  At GHS, we believe Every Student, Every Day is the key to our success.
