Gilbert Community School District is preparing to welcome all students back to their classrooms on August 27, 2020 using appropriate COVID-19 mitigation strategies. We will be working closely with Story County and IA Dept. of Public Health as well as following recommendations from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Our planning also provides options for on-line instruction, should the need arise due to health concerns related to COVID-19.COVID-19: Return to Learn, Communication & Summer Resources
Technology at Gilbert Intermediate
At Gilbert Intermediate School we have a variety of devices available to our students. Our teachers strive to incorporate technology to develop critical thinkers and engage our learners, every day. Any given day you could observe our students using ipads, macbooks, chromebooks or engaged using desktop computers in our technology lab.
Gilbert Middle and High School are 1:1 with chromebooks. Thanks to our districts PPEL funds along with the generous donations from Gilbert Education Foundation, we have 5 classroom carts of chromebooks. Beginning in August 2016, our 5th grade students will have their own chromebook that will go with them from classroom to classroom. We believe that through the use of technology we can enrich our students’ learning experience.
