Snow Days
Gilbert Families and Staff,
Winter weather season is here and with that comes the thought of snow days.
Some districts across the state have decided to replace snow days with remote learning days. Gilbert CSD wants kids to be kids, the idea of waking up to a snow is something both kids and adults enjoy. So as snow days go we are business as usual. Drink hot chocolate, watch movies, go sledding, or build a snowman. Enjoy the day.
We will announce school cancellations or delays in school start times as early as possible. One caveat will be if inclement weather falls on a Remote Learning Wednesday. Remote learning will still take place. If this happens, a message will go out through our messaging system, along with local TV stations, saying our buildings are closed for students. If small groups of students were planning to come in to meet with teachers etc. these events will be cancelled.
If you have any questions please contact our district office at 232-3740 and we will be happy to talk with you.
On Monday a message will be coming out from our school nurses on what to do if someone in your household needs to quarantine or tests positive for COVID over winter break.
We’ve been in school 76 days now. We are thankful for each day we are here together. This would not be possible without the partnership we have with you, our families. Thank you for working with us. Enjoy this time with family and friends. Stay healthy and safe.
