Literacy Curriculum and Assessment Nights for Parents

The elementary has scheduled two events for this fall. On Thursday, September 21 at 7:00pm, we will host a curriculum night for parents. We will highlight the new literacy materials and how the literacy block is organized. Examples of the materials that are used in the classroom will be available for parents to view. Activities for parents to use at home with their children will also be shared.

On Tuesday, October 17 at 7:00, the elementary will also have an assessment night. We will share information about the literacy assessments that are used to help teachers make instructional decisions and determine progress. Parents will have a chance to see the assessments in action. We will also share the fall early literacy data with parents about their individual child(ren) and how that compares to benchmarks and the class. This meeting will be a good for parents in preparation for fall conferences.
